Branding a Donut shop
drew is kind of like the unofficial mayor of the south side - wait, not mayor - thats the wrong word. drew is kind of like the coach - or the crazy old guy in the stands that yells at you across the field - telling you why whatever you are doing is wrong AND how you should be doing it so you are doing it right.
drew owns pipers pub - and based off of that alone, i usually listen when he has a new idea. the last one resulted in the pub chip shop (the first savory pie spot in pittsburgh)- i actually had to eventually ban myself from there. he was instrumental in getting Pittsburgh Craft Beer week up and moving - among a slew of other ideas, his newest idea was to open a donut shop INSIDE the Pub chip shop. i asked if he meant like a pop-up and he said no, then yes.
he told me the idea on a wednesday -and i had to have a logo together by friday and he wants to start it on tuesday.
also, it doesnt have a name yet - but in describing the idea, the comment
"everybody likes donuts. how could it go wrong if they are just good donuts. "
- i repeated "Just Good Donuts" and that was that. done deal . then he said - it has to be like a 70s van. something badass - again, by friday. today is friday. i cant wait for tuesday.
the post gazette already did a story on it - check this out
so - heres the logo in a few different treatments. we have a stock of prism vinyl that ive been dying to use. i cant wait to print the hell out of everything with this. hot damn i love my job.
thats just a full blown color treatment - it will more than likely be one of these w some sort of stoner rock color jam slathered into it. maybe a split fountain print. who knows. what i do know, is that its ready to rip.
